My friend asked me to be the one to take pictures for our campus merch photoshoot. At first, I was hesitant because photography isn't really my strength. Plus, I'm not yet familiar with my camera model. Knowing that I had to be excellent, I wasn't confident enough of my skills and started to look for other excellent people who can do it instead of me. However, none of them was available. I think it was God telling me that I had to do it. And so I did.
Not all of the pictures appeared great but some of them did. At the end of the shoot, I learned what to do and what not to do. But more than the improvement of my skills, my highlight was really how my faith grew stronger and deeper in the Lord. That even in my weaknesses, God can still use me.
There are a few graphic tee concepts I’ve been sitting on for a few years. It’s a faith based clothing line. At first, and still, I wasn’t confident in my ability to render them or to find someone who could execute the vision of the graphics for me, so I procrastinated. Then, it was the fear of no one buying them. And now because there are so many out now and I know how long I’ve had them in the chamber it feels as if I’ve waited too long. Infamous excuses that are conveniently on hand to take the cover for fear.
I’ve decided to at least play around with rendering just one of the concepts, just to get over that initial hurdle and to place some momentum behind it and trust that if I make one step God will certainly meet me. Especially since He’s known to take 4 steps when we just make a single move.
