💖 DEVOTIONAL:
"The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full." - John 10:10 (NIV)
Can you believe it? We're already in the second quarter of the year! Time seems to rush by, doesn't it? Before you dive headlong into the busyness of this season, take a moment for a second quarter check-in. Just like race cars make regular pit stops to assess their health, status, direction and ensure peak performance, take the time to pause and evaluate your creative journey. How are you faring with the creative goals you set at the beginning of the year? How's your art? But perhaps more importantly, how's your heart?
As Easter recently passed, it's an opportune time to reflect on the message of victory and renewal. In John 10:10, Jesus declares, "The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full." Always remember that your creative journey is not exempt from the attacks of the enemy, who seeks to steal your joy, kill your passion, and destroy your sense of purpose. But Jesus came to give us abundant life—life overflowing with purpose, joy, and creativity. So, lean into His promise of abundant life as you navigate the ups and downs of your creative endeavors.
This week, allow the significance of Easter to resonate deeply within you. Let it ignite a fresh passion for creating beauty that reflects the victory of our risen Savior. I hope you took the time last week during Holy Week to pause, slow down, and meditate on the ultimate victory and love demonstrated through Jesus' death and resurrection. Let the Holy Spirit stir your heart and inspire you to continue crafting beautiful things for the Kingdom, using your gifts to spread the message of hope and redemption to a world in need.
🙏 PRAYER:
Heavenly Father, as we enter the second quarter of the year, we pause to seek Your guidance and wisdom. Help us to recognize the importance of regular "pit stops" in our lives—to assess our direction, refill our spirits, and realign ourselves with Your purposes. Grant us the discernment to recognize the attacks of the enemy and the strength to overcome them through Your abundant life. Fill us with Your Spirit, Lord, as we continue to create for Your glory. In Jesus' name, Amen.
💡 TIP OF THE WEEK:
🏁 Schedule regular "creative pit stops" in your calendar: Pit stops don't have to happen just quarterly. Set aside a designated time each week or month to step back from your projects, reflect on your progress, and reconnect with your creative vision. Use this time for prayer, meditation, and self-assessment. Ask yourself questions like: "Am I still aligned with my creative goals?" "What adjustments do I need to make to stay on track?" "How can I nourish my creativity and soul during this pause?" Remember, these pit stops are essential for maintaining momentum, motivation, clarity, and passion in your creative journey.
