💖 DEVOTIONAL:
"A man without self-control is like a city broken into and left without walls." - Proverbs 25:28 (ESV)
One of the biggest struggles for artists is the issue of overwhelm. With so many opportunities, it can be hard to choose a path. Our schedules can get packed with projects, making it difficult to focus. We often are flooded with ideas but can’t start any of them. If this sound like you, the issue may not be time management; it may be boundaries.
Understanding your calling is the key to setting those boundaries. When you have a clear sense of who God wants you to be and what He wants you to do, it becomes easier to say yes to the right things and no to the wrong ones. Boundaries are not just about protecting your time but about protecting your purpose. Saying no creates space in your life for the things that truly matter.
Imagine your life filled with activities and opportunities that, while good, are not aligned with God’s specific calling for you. These distractions crowd your mental space and drain your energy. By learning to say no, whether it’s to a relationship, a job, a project, a habit, or a lifestyle, you empower yourself to step purposefully towards the things God has for you.
Saying no is not about selfishness; it's about stewardship. It allows you to preserve your energy and creativity for the tasks that align with your divine purpose. Each time you set a boundary, you create space to receive the blessings and opportunities that God has tailored just for you.
Our creative gifts are precious, but they need direction. Without self-control and clear boundaries, we are like a city with broken walls, vulnerable to overwhelm and distraction. Embrace your calling, set your boundaries, and allow God to guide your creative journey.
🙏 PRAYER:
Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for the creative gifts You have placed within us. Help us to understand our calling and to set boundaries that protect our purpose. Teach us to say no to what distracts us and yes to what aligns with Your will. Give us the wisdom and strength to avoid overwhelm and to steward our gifts for Your glory. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
💡 TIP OF THE WEEK:
✅ Make space for the right stuff: This week, take some time to prayerfully reflect on your current commitments. Write down everything on your plate and evaluate each item against your sense of God’s calling for your life. Identify at least one commitment or activity that you can step away from to create more space for what truly matters.
THAT’S IT FOR THIS WEEK’S DROP!
