BOOST #123: The World Demands Fast, God Invites Slow 🐌
A holy invitation to move at the speed of wonder
💖 DEVOTIONAL:
“Hear this, O Job; stop and consider the wondrous works of God.” — Job 37:14
Hurry kills wonder.
You don’t realize how noisy the world is until you try to unplug from it. The buzz of notifications, the pressure to hustle, the endless scroll—it all adds up. Everything screams, “More! Faster!” But God? He’s not in a rush. He shows up in the quiet, the slow, the spaces where we finally stop to listen.
Slowness creates space for noticing. The smell of your coffee before the first sip. The way sunlight crawls across the floor. How a song cracks your chest open when you're actually listening. The satisfying crunch of a perfectly dried leaf under your shoe. Rain tapping out its own rhythm on the roof. A line of Scripture lighting up like it was written just for you. These moments don’t shout. They whisper. And if you’re sprinting through the day, you’ll miss every… single… one.
There’s a strange kind of clarity that shows up when we give ourselves permission to slow down. Not everything needs to be productive. Not every idea needs to become a project. Sometimes God just wants to sit with you while you think, dream, and breathe for a minute.
The pressure to perform is heavy, especially for creatives. But pressure can’t hold wonder. Joy doesn’t grow in overpacked schedules. There’s a kind of holy awe that only comes when we stop trying to force everything and start trusting that we’re not falling behind by slowing down.
This week’s invitation isn’t to do more, but to see more. To make space for wonder again. The kind of wonder that reminds you God is already here—and always has been.
🙏 PRAYER:
Lord, I confess that I often rush past You in my pursuit of doing more. Teach me how to slow down—not just in pace, but in posture. Help me see again. Feel again. Wonder again. May my creativity flow not from pressure, but from presence. And may I trust Your sufficiency over my own efficiency. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
💡 TIP OF THE WEEK:
Do one creative thing this week… slowly. Write one stanza. Doodle one frame. Edit one clip. But do it with zero pressure to finish. Before you begin, take one full minute of silence. Breathe. Ask God to speak. Then let wonder lead… even if the result feels small. The goal isn’t output but awareness.

I really needed this, God is confirming to me not to conform to what social media wants us to believe, the post post post culture is draining. If we rely on God, let’s let Him handle that part for us, He always wins in the end and He will make moves when it is the time and get the message out to who needs it, in the masses! So I will be still, listen to God, and put down what only He says. 🧡🧡
A lovely & timely message ✨. Thank you for sharing the encouraging reminder to take it easy🌸.
