BOOST #124: Why AI Prompts Feel So Powerful 💪
What experimenting with AI taught me about how the Father creates
💖 DEVOTIONAL:
“And God said, ‘Let there be light,’ and there was light.” — Genesis 1:3
Whether you’re excited about AI or skeptical of it, you have to admit—there’s something mesmerizing about typing a few words into a prompt box and watching an image, a poem, or a melody take shape out of nothing. I’ve been experimenting with AI tools recently, as I’ve been preparing for my upcoming ebook, and I get the fascination. There’s something very human about finding joy in creation through words. Maybe it’s because we were made in the image of a God who spoke galaxies into existence with nothing but His voice and a few thoughtful words.
God said, “Let there be…” and there was. With just a word. No sketches, no mood boards. Just voice and intent. So when we find ourselves drawn to the magic of prompt-based creation, maybe it’s not just because of the novelty. But because it’s a reflection. A flicker of recognition. Like our souls remember what it felt like when words first shaped light, land, and life. Maybe that’s why it stirs something in us—to speak, to type, to create using words—and watch a new thing appear.
Still, not every act of creation is anchored in goodness and beauty and worship. I think about Babel—how humans gathered their brilliance and built something bold, not to honor God, but to elevate themselves. It wasn’t the creativity that went wrong. It was the motive.
That’s the tension I feel when I create—especially as we watch the tools get more powerful. Is this an act of worship, or self-promotion? Am I building a tower to heaven, or am I simply offering what I’ve made back to the One who gave me the words?
There’s nothing wrong with using (or collaborating with) new tools, exploring possibilities, or being excellent at what you do. But when the desire to be seen starts to outweigh the desire to serve, it might be time to pause. We were made to reflect glory, not steal it.
So this week, let’s keep coming back to this question: What kind of world am I building with my words?
🙏 PRAYER:
God, thank You for the incredible gift of language, imagination, and creation. Help me not just to marvel at what I can make, but to reflect on why I’m making it. Keep my heart grounded in You, especially when tools and trends tempt me to create for applause instead of obedience. Teach me to use my words like You do—to build, to bless, and to bring light. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
💡 TIP OF THE WEEK:
Before using any creative tool (AI or otherwise) pause and ask: What is this for? Create a sticky note or lock screen that says, “Create with God, not apart from Him.” Let that question shape your next project. Let is serve as a reminder that your words have weight—and your heart sets the direction.
