BOOST #158: Do Not Be Anxious 🐦
Finding peace in a season full of responsibility
💖 DEVOTIONAL:
“Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?”
Matthew 6:26 (ESV)
I’ll be honest. I’ve been anxious lately. About a lot of things. Providing for my family. Raising my kids well. Making sure the business grows and stays sustainable. There are moments when the weight of responsibility feels heavier than I expect, and my mind quietly runs through worst-case scenarios when no one is watching.
I don’t think creatives talk honestly enough about this kind of anxiety. The kind that shows up as late-night overthinking. The pressure to stay relevant. The fear of choosing the wrong path. The worry that what worked before might not work again. We carry questions about money, purpose, and calling all at once. And when those questions stack up, anxiety doesn’t need much invitation.
Jesus’ words in Matthew 6 feel almost too simple at first. Look at the birds. They do not stress over tomorrow. They do not hoard ideas or opportunities. They trust that provision will come. Not because life is easy, but because God is faithful. And then Jesus asks a quiet but piercing question. Are you not of more value than they are?
Anxiety often reveals where our trust has drifted. We begin to believe that everything depends on us. Our effort. Our output. Our ability to keep things going. But God does not ask us to carry tomorrow on our shoulders. He invites us to stay present, faithful, and attentive today.
For creatives, this matters deeply. Anxiety chokes curiosity. It narrows imagination. It turns creativity into survival mode. But when we remember that God is both our Provider and our Father, something loosens in our heart of hearts. We are free to create again. Not from fear, but from trust.
If you have been feeling anxious about the future, hear this gently. God sees you. He knows what you need. He is not surprised by your responsibilities or your season. Just like the birds, you are held. And you are deeply valued.
🙏 PRAYER:
Father, You know the things that have been weighing on my heart. The worries I carry about provision, purpose, and the future. Help me to trust You more than my fears. Teach me to rest in Your care and remember that You are faithful. Calm my anxious thoughts and lead me back to confidence in You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
💡 APPLICATION:
When anxious thoughts start to spiral, pause and name three things God has already provided for you this week. Write them down. Let gratitude gently interrupt fear.
When Fear Says You’ll Run Out 🪫
One of the quiet fears anxiety feeds is the fear of running out. Running out of ideas. Energy. Direction. When I feel that pressure rising, I remind myself that creativity is not something I have to manufacture alone. It is something God invites me into.
That is why I wrote my first ebook. Not as a quick fix, but as a guide. A gentle resource to help you reconnect with ideas, rhythms, and tools that keep your creative well from running dry. If you are longing to create from a place of trust instead of fear, this might be a helpful next step for you.

Thanks Brian for always being so on time. I don't always read every Sunday, but when I do, it is exactly what I need.
Let's continue to walk faithfully and cast our cares!
So timely. Thanks for being faithful in the little.
