💖 DEVOTIONAL:
"We destroy arguments and every lofty opinion raised against the knowledge of God, and take every thought captive to obey Christ." - 2 Corinthians 10:5 (ESV)
In the quiet moments before sharing our work, fear often whispers doubts into our hearts. What if they reject it? What if it's not good enough? The root of this fear is the fear of rejection—a stifling force that can keep us from sharing the gifts God has given us. This fear is a lie that needs to be confronted and conquered.
When the fear of rejection starts to creep in, we have a choice to make. Do we believe this lie and let it paralyze us, or do we take that thought captive? As the Apostle Paul urges in 2 Corinthians 10:5, we must take every thought captive to obey Christ. This means recognizing the fear, acknowledging it, and then kicking it out of our system. We can’t allow it to hold us back from fulfilling the purpose God has placed in our hearts.
Let's embrace the 3 R's to combat this fear: Recognize, Repent, Replace. First, recognize the fear for what it is—a lie from the enemy designed to hinder you. Identify the thoughts that are holding you back and bring them into the light of God's truth.
Second, repent of allowing that fear to control you. Acknowledge that you have let fear dictate your actions, and turn away from it. Surrender these fears to Jesus, knowing that He is faithful to forgive and to replace your fear with His peace.
Finally, replace those fearful thoughts with the truth of God's Word. When the fear of rejection looms, combat it with scriptures that affirm your identity in Christ and His plans for you. God's Word is a powerful weapon against the lies of the enemy.
Confidence in God allows us to see our creative gifts through His eyes. We can trust that He has equipped us for the tasks He has called us to. Our talents are a reflection of His creativity, and He has designed us uniquely for His glory. When we embrace this truth, we can step out boldly, knowing that our worth and identity are found in Christ.
Remember, your creative expressions are meant to shine His light and bring His message to the world. Trust in Him, take those thoughts captive, and share your work with the confidence that comes from knowing you are fearfully and wonderfully made by the Master Artist.
🙏 PRAYER:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts open, acknowledging the fears that often hold us back. We ask for Your strength to take every thought captive and make it obedient to Christ. Help us to see our creative gifts as reflections of Your divine creativity. Give us the courage to share our work, trusting in Your perfect design for our lives. Replace our fears with confidence in You, and let our creations bring glory to Your name. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
💡 TIP OF THE WEEK:
🎭 Counter your fears. This week, when you feel fear creeping in about sharing your work, write down the fear and then write a scripture verse that counters that fear. Meditate on that verse and declare it over your life. Start small by sharing your work with a trusted friend or mentor who can offer encouragement and support.
THAT’S IT FOR THIS WEEK’S DROP!
